Which SIB Do You Own??

A sib is a soft floor inflatable boat that will roll up and fit into a bag to ease with carrying or storage.
There are many different floor designs, exampoles include - Air floor mat, Wooden/Metal boards over an Inflatable Keel or a High Pressure V Floor.

Here in the states we have more propane than gas.
I like the fact that I can use a 1lb bottle or as much as a 30lb tank.
A typical BBQ tank is 20lbs or 4 1/2 gallons
On my 5hp that lasts for weeks.

The gas in my part of the U.S. Has ethanol in it and is notorious for clogging up small engines when sitting around or when the outboard is stored for the winter.

I found the outboard at a small boat boat show.
A small boat where I live is a boat 16 feet/5.5m or smaller
That is very cool. Can you provide additional information? Did you do the conversion or was the engine already setup that way? There's quite a few offroaders that perform this conversion for their old carburated engines that I've always been interested in.

Agree about 16 foot or smaller noted as a small boat around these parts.

Ours is a 15'/4.6m SeaBright 460HD from Nova Scotia. Bought it after researching and comparing cost and specifications for many different sizes and brands of boats. It was the cheapest we found, when converting from Canadian to US dollar, with the following additional benefits; HD PVC in 1.1mm thickness, FRP / fiberglass transom, aluminum panel floors, and a highly attentive, respectable seller. Shipping and customs was an interesting transition and they made it as easy and as cost effective as possible. We purchased our boat with the intent that it would not be long term. In just another half of the season, after only a year of use, it will have already paid for itself when compared to other boating alternatives and related expenses.

Currently, I'd want our next boat to be an FC470. They are just way too cool for all of the right and wrong reasons. Originally we purchased the 20hp as the max size we could frequently mobilize since we currently build, fold and store our equipment after every expedition. It's been acceptable in performance but with the recent construction of a trailer, I'm hoping our new process would allow us to increase this capacity.
Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

My SIB is a 2.8 airdeck loadstar - the best ive owned mainly as it dosent seam to deteriorate or un glue - and so far its cost me £25 :D

i like recycling and using used stuff so just like this one i got the boat for free and added 2 patches and a avon keel as it was missing

Have now owned this one for over 4 years and only had to add 1 more patch [where it caught a sharp bit of iron on the slip]

this is powerd by a recycled upgraded 9.9 - to a 15hp which also has cost me £70 over the last 8 years ive owned it and came out of a skip when aquired

the best thing is i also use this set up for a little work boat alongside my larger work boat and it dosent have to look smart nor is it looked at by theives when i leave it unatended on the slip or on the trailer - i dont insure it either bringing the cost down as we run 6 boats each is only used for a short while each year

i store our trailed boats in our woods so each winter there coverd in leaves and suceptable to go green - if i had anything decent it would be a shame to have this so i use disposable boats appart from my main 2

Ah ha... a fellow Stig (of the dump)...

So I have one SIB, my only ever SIB (having owned kayak, canoe, sh!t speed boat)

- Honwave T38 IE2
- Honda BF20
- Honwave transom wheels
- Bravo pump

Being new to the SIBing world this set-up has been used for about 10 hours so far and it is very very neat. Simple to set up, loads of room, performs well, dry ride, kids and wife love it... all good!

I also transport on the rear of the car instead of roof or boot

(well, sometimes it goes on the roof)
