Breaking News - Foldable Rib reaches the USA !!!

Post by Martin » 01 May 2016, 18:19

We've had so many conversations regarding the superb F-Rib / Winboat in the USA, Well I'm delighted to announce Foldable Ribs news.. :party
The F-Rib will be available very shortly to our friends across the pond. A shipment is on it's way to your new dealer as we speak !! :drive

The new FRIB dealer is based in Santa Ana, California. A boating hub located very close to the popular Newport Beach Marina’s.

The new dealership will be under the helm of Manager Nabs Carlson trading as FourSeas

The General Manager Ricky Cole at FRIB UK, comments: “I am very excited about opening our first US dealership and working with Nabs. FRIBs has been growing in popularity in the US and we have already been shipping boats to customers on the East Coast. Nabs and his team are the perfect match to support our existing customers and expand our reach from coast to coast.”

That is indeed good news as there was a lot of interest from America but the importer didn't seem to 'have any legs' so it seemed to die a death :(
Is the boat being badged/marketed as a WinBoat, which was the original intention or now as F-Rib :?:
Either way I'm sure Steve will give the boat the success it deserves over in the USA :party
All the best to Steve, Ricky and Nabs in this new adventure :cheers

I am really pleased to hear this because it is about 18 months ago when I did the first review on this boat on another forum that guys from the US tried and failed to get hold of the Frib. This market will be a cracker for Steve, of that I have no doubts whatsoever and I for one am very pleased for him to have sorted this new market.

WELL DONE STEVE.....................................

Will definately be interested in checking out an FRIB when they come out with a hypalon model. Just too hot in Texas to mess with PVC.
I once dated a girl in High School and her Father told me I would never amount to anything. He was right!

No it's not.
Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

What sort of temperatures are we talking about?
I think if requested, you can have the hypolon option f-rib, but if you have any specific questions ask away and either we will obtain the answer or ask FRIBBER directly via PM.

Just saw Martins post and thought I'd post it away

The F-Rib is now sold in Spain and their climate in summer is between 30-40 degrees C so we'll have to judge the performance of modern UV resilient PVC and glues against Hypalon fabric :|
I'm pretty sure the F-Rib comes with an option of Hypalon over here but it's at a cost and weight premium obviously

Just got a pointer to this forum. Just wanted to let folks know that we bought an F-RIB 360 from Nabs and team at Four Seas. Nabs is passionate about the product and they have provided a great buying experience. They installed brackets for a davit lifts - they didn't care so much for the way that F-RIB bolted from the top to the bottom with acorn nuts exposed on the bottom, so they redesigned the brackets to bolt flush from the underside. Very well done. Nabs delivered the F-RIB 360 to San Diego and showed us how to unfold, refold, inflate, helped us test hang from the davits, and then refold the craft - great service indeed!

They said that F-RIB has chaps available for the boat - anyone have any experience with the chaps? We plan to spend a lot of time in islands with the F-RIB hanging from the davits and then fold it up for passages, so chaps seem like the best way to minimize UV damage to the PVC.

Also, want to add wheels to the rear for rolling up on the beach - any recommendations?

Cheers!
