Well it is still as slow as a very slow thing. It is right in the middle of the boating season and hardly any one is bothering to post about their adventures. Up to them of course but it would be nice if others did rather than leave it to the few

Re: To All Members New and Old.. PLEASE READ
It the slowest I have seen people posting since becoming a member, I put a post a little while back and had no responses which is very unusual, I think it must be the recession with petrol prices and boater not being able to take there boat out as much as they used too.
I will be taking my KB350 out often from now so lets see what I can put up to post.

I can't help but feel everyone may be out enjoying thier boats. ?
I see some posts not replied to.. but wonder if that is simply as no one knows the answer to some questions?
To me is about posting when you can either help or add value or about setting some good pics etc. Slow is sometimes a good thing... it means no keyboard warriors having to have the last word or 'make up' some facts to impress.

Well yes but there is slow and there is almost stopped. It is so easy now to make a little video these days it takes minutes to do and when it is a subject you like it pleases others to watch. It also gives people an idea of places to visit themselves etc. Here is an example (not boating) of a little video I took and made in the time my mother (85 Years old) was dishing up the dinner. It is a DJI Mini 2 screen recording of a flight I made testing somthingPeterM wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 13:02I can't help but feel everyone may be out enjoying thier boats. ?

I won’t give up I just would like to see others adventures
It really is very easy making a video and uploading to you tube. I do it all on an old IPhone 8

Wow...
Thanks to all those that chip in,
- though It's a real shame to read the negatives
Chris P (moderator) is usually on the ball with newbie applications, We'd have be screwed without him over the last two years as my work and house moving life has been manic!
I'm also pretty quick at accepting newbies too, but we don't always have time to reply as well as accepting the posts, hence why i made this post, to explain where the members need to look.
We both do this whilst trying to hold down a full time job, family and other interests.
Andy (Hobbit) is also a mod but very rarely comes on these days, I think the Covid thing kicked us all and maybe we all got a little used to not going out and/or posting.
Anyways,
The forums here whilst you want it, all i can do is say the forum picks up speed when it gets good posts, Google picks up on words you type and how you make the subject headers appear, "Out today" does nothing for the search index or google, But "A day boating on Ullswater" brings in new blood.
Images posted up without tags don't get listed - so be sure to add a description for meta data.. (ie - Honwave T38ie 2 on Ullswater) will also attract attention by search engines.
Word of mouth is the best advert we have, positive posting and inviting friends and relatives to join creates new posts and keeps the search engines active.
SEO (search engine optimisation) is as much down to the content & quality of the posts made - as it is the big money businesses trying to get you on page one of google.
If you have a shirt, wear it whilst your out, display your stickers on your vehicles and boats, Use your mug to pour your flask coffee
It all helps !!!
The other channels...
We have never, from day one, tried to compete with or duplicate ribnet
Dear god, thats the last place we want to be like.
I think we have a good balance here, It's kiddy friendly, polite and plentyful in regard of knowledge of the masses -whilst being able to maintain a little banter, Did you notice we don't have any pestering pop ups advertising businesses all over your pages and post?
We're not funded by business nor are we owned by a large forum group. We are independantly owned and run!
F-Ribs and Sibs is a place for the smaller craft owner and newbies to gain knowledge and experience without critiscism or spoil.
There's no place for c0ck waggers or safety police on here.
Be proud of your forum, you help make it, maintain it and grow it !!
As we've alays said from day one, The forum is here for it's members, not the other way round!
These places don't work without you guys.

Hence my post!
To be honest, would you feel welcome if you made your first post and nobody replied to you?
The forum needs its members as the members need the forum.
Positivity my fellow boaty friend !!
