SIB bow box and electrical panel
Project is moving on nicely now, have got the front panel complete with all the parts fitted for testing. Looks pretty much as I'd planned it to. Particularly like the small lockable locker with cupholders, I can see that being most useful. The perspective of the picture makes it look as if it doesn't line up properly but they all do, I think its the angle of the photograph.
Need to create the rest of the 'box' now, then make the whole thing watertight with yacht varnish. But so far so good.

Re: SIB bow box and electrical panel
So here it is in situ, am going to secure using M8 coach bolts upwards with thumb screws for easy removal.
Starting to fit and wire the nav and anchor lights on the radar arch now, and the VHF antenna. May also fit a horseshoe life ring to the lower part of the arch as well.
Wiring will all run under the solid floor inside plastic conduit with waterproof plugs either end so it can be removed without trailing wires.
Good thing is it adds a reasonable amount of bow ballast which will be useful given I am a 'big' lad. But also its light enough for me to lift out whilst the boat is still on the trailer. Not totally sure about transporting with the box in situ, it will fit in the back of my car easily.
Cant wait to get it on the water now.

What a cracking job you’ve done there...
And an A frame too, how did you mount that and is it quick release ?

Re: SIB bow box and electrical panel
Cheers Martin,
The A frame had factory mounting points on the rear most section of the Ali floor, fitted by Excel before shipping. It takes less than a minute to take it down, a thumb screw and thru bolt each side, then the frame lifts out in three sections and fits nicely inside the boat for transport.
Everything all wired up now, lights, vhf antenna, etc. Ran the new Tohatsu 20 on muffs today to get the initial break in at idle done. Have a 6hp Yamaha arriving tomorrow which I’ll run in as well. Then taking the boat out on Thursday on the River Severn with a local owners club. Have already sent them links to this site and will be wearing my branded gear. May even give some stickers away.
If all goes well Thursday I’ll be hitting the Solent next week.

The gout has cleared up (for now) so boating is back on!
Heading up the hamble tomorrow morning! We will be there by 9am at warsash, aiming to be on the water around 9:30 if you fancy joining us @sladonians

Re: SIB bow box and electrical panel
@ChrisParish sadly tomorrow I’ve a full day of Zoom calls otherwise I’d be there. However now the motor has been broken in I’m going to be heading down any chance I get so I’m sure there will be other opportunities.
Bit of advice, where’s good for mackerel fishing in the Solent?

If last year is anything to go by, Morrison’s off junction 2 of the M27.
I had rotten luck with mackies last year.
