All pumped up and nowhere to go.
New trailer sat at Ash Marine in Exeter, both SIBs raring to go, need to fit the electrics to the new one. Am going to build a removable battery box with fused switches on top of which will have the chartplotter and fishfinder, and a fixed VHF flushfitted on the box. Will have it so it fits onto the front thwart with cables running to the radar arch for nav lights and VHF antenna. These will be in a piece of conduit with a single multi point waterproof plug at each end so the whole thing can be removed without leaving wires hanging.
Hey ho, keep safe all and hope to see you on the water at some point.

Re: All pumped up and nowhere to go.
I know how you feel its very frustrating after a long winter and now the weather has changed and the sun is out we are all on a lock down, my boat is also in the garage all I can do is look at it.
Sounds like you have a lot of plans and projects to keep you busy, I look forward to see how you get on and hope to get some ideas for my boat.

Am going to enjoy the wiring project, tinkering is almost as fun as sailing them. Added to which the wife has a growing list of chores for me whilst 'working at home' so I dont think I will be idle

Good to see you have made a start, what's the measurement of it and as said by Chris some photos of inside,
I am thinking of buying Lowrance Hook2-5 Splitshot Chartplotter Fishfinder Combo so I will be very interested on how you fit it out, any recomendation on the battery you use

Re: All pumped up and nowhere to go.
A 7ah 12v SLA battery will give a good 20hrs use. Cost around £15.
If you’re feeling flush upgrade to something like a 20ah 12v Li-ion at less than half the weight and 65hrs run time. Cost around £60.
Run times based on Garmin Echomap Plus 45cv and powering no other accessories.

Re: All pumped up and nowhere to go.
Not quite sure what you’re asking but the switch, voltmeter and accessory sockets are just a cheapo set off eBay. Ditch the backing plate.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3914697428
All electrical connections are inside the sealed sarnie box. Accessory sockets wired through switch whilst Chartplotter powered direct to battery, just in case switch/sockets get affected by moisture. All circuits fused.

That is what I meant the accessory sockets on the sealed sarnie box, sorry not explaining it too well I was not sure what they were called
