launching this weekend for the first time (with this SIB). I've got full run-in procedure to go thru so will be heading out solo initially.
Ive built a sled to hold the engine which lets me slide it into a trailer. the kids want to go out but I'm not sure about the weather, so it might be a solo trip for me on Saturday and out with the kids on Sunday.
This set me thinking - for one day, inflate, play, deflate is the only realistic option, but for 2 consecutive days, this starts to look like a faff. I can't (won't) store the boat overnight at the launch-site, so bringing it home is the only option.
Started me thinking ...
The trailer has a cage and cover (4 corner supports and a roof support with PVC soft cover) The supports bolt in to the trailer base.
So if I get 2 bits of 3x2 long enough to just fit inside the trailer (6'x 4') then I have the option of taking the cage off completely, and attaching these across the top of the trailer...
I can then bring the boat out of the water, unmount the engine and slide it into the trailer, along with fuel tanks oars anchor etc etc etc, and I should then be able to flip the boat over onto the supporting timbers and carry it upside down (fully lashed down of course), but fully inflated and ready for day-2 use.

Re: Best of both worlds?
Hi and welcome. Seems to me that you have a reasonable plan in mind, only trying it out will prove the theory! But that's all part of the fun. My F-Rib 360 lives on it's trailer for quick trips nearby (only 6 miles from launch point) if going further afield on multi day trips, it packs away into my pick up truck.
Have fun

Why am I here - I should be in my boat fishing!!

Hi Patrick-H
I'm trying to visualise the set up you're describing, sounds useful.
Any chance of some pics?
