Ullswater first timer.
Well. Im at ullswater and had my first voyage with the sib. Wobbly start. Bit of trouble to start with. But after 15 min of panic it went well. The 15hp is super and even a few mm of throttle was enough to get me hanging on with dear life lol.

Nice one, looks ace.
Glad your pleased with the new rig.
Hey, many years ago, first time out in our brand new sib and motor, the twist grip fell off the tiller half a mile out. Shit happens, and we laugh about it now.

Re: Ullswater first timer.
End of day two and what a good day. We both went from pooly bridge (waterside) all the way to the other end of ullswater. Boat and motor did us well. Heading into the wind was very choppy at first but got calmer as we went. Top speed of 10 mph without hitting quarter throttle.
The steamer was the best part of the fun when the ripples from the boat hit us. Surprised how big they got
Heading back was easy with the wind, the water was very calm for us compared to against the wind and skimmed the water beautifully. Not sure it was planing at 10 mph tho?
Sadly no pictures of the actual ride from me as i was busy concentrating lol. But some good before and after pics. I think the mrs has a vid of my struggling on Thursday on my first attempt which i will try and post when i get it..
I used a phone app for watching my speed which actually worked great. Boatspeedo.

Re: Ullswater first timer.
I will be on ullswater again on 12th August if anyone is about. So if you see a sib its me and the mrs.
We are launching from waterside farm again as we love staying in the pods.
I will try and get some on water pics and maybe a vid this time

Had another great few days at ullswater and got lucky on Monday with the weather, sunny spells so had a great days boating. Getting good at launching now and neither me or the mrs got wet
Saw a few sibs and ribs. One honwave air floor. T32 i believe from the size. And an hydroforce. But i doubt its anyone on here.

Re: Ullswater first timer.
I am not only a newbie here but this will my first time on Ullswater this week with my Honwave T32.I've done Coniston before and the weather was amazing, also a lap of Windermere which was far too busy.£35 they wanted to Launch from White cross and £5 from Coniston.
I could do with some pointers on where to Launch, were staying at Ullswater heights a new site,I've emailed them and they don't know especially with the outboard?

Re: Ullswater first timer.
Hey billy. We stayed at waterside camp site which i would recommend. Have great pods or plenty of camping space with or without power points if needed, showers and toilets etc. And plenty of launch areas which are free if staying at the siteBillysollocks wrote: ↑18 Aug 2019, 21:52I am not only a newbie here but this will my first time on Ullswater this week with my Honwave T32.I've done Coniston before and the weather was amazing, also a lap of Windermere which was far too busy.£35 they wanted to Launch from White cross and £5 from Coniston.

If you wanted to go for the day you have lots of options to launch else where. We walked past one place with parking people used. Im not sure about parking fees but im sure its free but double check that when u arrive. Ive marked it on the map here. Its between waterside and pooley bridge.
No charges for using Ullswater but do remember the 10mph speed limit!

Re: Ullswater first timer.
Regarding a motor, thats no problem. You could have a 1000hp as long you keep to the speed limitBillysollocks wrote: ↑18 Aug 2019, 21:52I've emailed them and they don't know especially with the outboard?
