Please be careful @Themd1 where you use a T32 loaded up with 3 or 4 people with only a 6hp on the back. Lakes, rivers, and sheltered waters will be fine, but It’s very underpowered for taking 3 or 4 people out on the open sea.

Hi colin,

Im new too, i too bought a package and it included a honda 6hp about a month back. I took the sib out and yes, my boat was underpowered, and now have the honda up for sale...

However, the forum is great. And there is a deep well of knowledge on here, so ask away, i do ...

Happy sibbing mate

all noted chris thank you, as i said earlier most of the time it will be myself and two young girls for a play around so nothing to serious we wont be going miles out by any means, to be fair though the videos ive seen with the set up they seem to be picking up some fair speed to me with two adults in. the beach im thinking of using it on in cornwall is a bay so by no means would i attempt to leave it. i have found two videos the first one is the T32 but with a marina 6hp then the other is a honda 6bf been tested against suzuki DF6a outboard i appreciate the second video is on a different boat 3.1 meter instead of the 3.2 honwave. looking at these videos made me think there was enough power for our needs do you think im wrong? got me thinking now guys.

GT912 thanks for that oh no  im starting to think ive made a bad desision. when you say under powerd is that with four people? does it struggle to plane? at this moment in time funds wont allow an upgrade to the bigger engine sadly.

I have a T40, so a lot heavier than yours, we took it down to tenby, and with 3 adults in it was sluggish and thought it would be quicker.

Like i said, my sib is heavy and with a alli floor, 3 of us in it plus a sandwich box each and a bottle of pop, my boat, who we call Aphrodite, did not plain and hit every wave and soaked the mrs lol...

However, your sib will be a hell of a lot lighter than ours, just cut down on the grub, and im sure you will have a ball.

To be fair we had a right laugh, even though we were doing around 8mph... we only did an hour, but it was fun... so i have to bite the bullet and get a bigger donkey

Just have fun... see how it goes, then next year upgrade.

Take care colin....

(Ooo look at me, one month on the forum and i sound like an expert... not)

Regards
GT

I’ve never used a T32 with a 6hp but I wouldn’t expect it to plane with the weight of 3 or 4 people unless they were all very lightweight. That’s potentially a lot of weight for 6hp.

I’d personally want 8-15hp on a T32ie and 10-20hp on a T38ie

It really is a big ask to get a 3.2m sib on the plane with 4 bodies in it only powered by a single cylinder 6hp.
I'm not saying it can't/won't happen but i'll be suprised if you manage it.
We're not bashing you down Colin, We just share the same concern.. Once that wind turns and takes hold with an outgoing tide.. That 6hp is going to have to burn some coal to make headway buddy. :pump
Please,please be careful !
