hi all, from leysdown on sea

Post by Steve On sheppey » 01 Feb 2019, 20:36

hi all, the short version,
I got myself a holiday caravan at leysdown on sea, sheppey
liked in so much I moved here and have a flat just across the road from my van, and minutes from the sea
spent last year kayak fishing with a group of local lads, but kept wanting to put an engine on the yak, had everything set up to put a trolling motor on it, when a SIB caught my eye on SHPOCK, and the rest is history, bought it, a sun sport hybrid kayak sib, with 3.5hp mariner 4 stroke, looking forward to getting back out on the water

Hi Steve & welcome, you’ll get loads of help from the lads on here, not sure if they’ll come & clean your boat for you but hey, you never know.

Hi Steve and welcome to the ‘mad house’

Saw your Sunsport on the other thread...looking good and hope it cleans up ok.

We also have a couple of 3.5 Mariners, long shaft aux for rib and a short shaft for our Bic Sportyak. Great little motors.

Happy boating. :thumbsup

the easy access from london is what got me hooked, be warned, it gets addictive here

as for the fishing, last year I only dipped my toes in catching anything, lol
had a small codling and a dog fish, all other trips out were a bloow out, but still enjoyable days out on the kayak,
hopefully this year will see better results,

The East coast (East Anglia) was total crap last year. I put it down to being very cold to start with (4 deg) so the fish never came north. Even the Rays breeding ground saw zero fish, they ended up breeding on the south coast instead. Also because it was so hot, the beaches were always stacked with noisy people splashing about, etc. Hence why I bough a boat lol ! But you'll never get me in a kayak !
Ill have to meet up with ya on some fishing some time this year, you can show me around ! :thumbsup

Why am I here - I should be in my boat fishing!!
