Myself and Pete visited Caernarfon during our Straits fishing stint.
We stepped off the sibs to stretch our legs and treated ourselves to a welcoming ice cream.

It was a great day out Paul, the fish are there but I think different tactics next time...I was little apprehensive going out on the
Straits, not because it was only my second time out on the sea, but anyone who's driven over one the bridges will see the current and areas of rolling and what looks like boiling water if that's the right description. But I needn't have worried, my 6 hp did a cracking job, it just took a while getting anywhere...
To give you an idea, we launched at Moel y Don and went left up to the Britannia Bridge. We fished on the drift and at anchor for a while before making or way to Caernarfon Castle for the ice cream stop, and then out towards the southern end of the Straits to anchor up...

Looks great, I've visited Caernarfon Castle a few times in my life and it's a great place to look around.Often looked out over the water but never seen it from the Water... thats now on my bucket list.

The Menia Straits is a beautiful place Martin even more so by water. It did seem a little strange going in to the harbour, but if you do make it down, as soon as you enter we moored at the steps on the left. The ice cream van is on the car park
...
