The stick on the right is a tattle howking stick to get the baked potatoes (great with just butter and salt) and baked apples (go well with cinnamon and clotted cream) out of the fire.

Great picture, Douglas.
That takes me right back to being a laddie, when we were tattie howking we used to bury a few in foil under the bonfire in the morning and by dinnertime they'd be just right, as you say with a bit butter & salt.
The taste of tea from a flask still also takes me back to those halcyon days of tattie howking, berry picking, thinning neeps and harvest time.

What a great choice Harrison and well done Jonny, it is a cracking shot
I also liked Stray's photo of the Drowning House on the huge beach at Vlieland but all the others were wonderful to look at during the wettest June on record here in the south of Scotland.
Following on from Jonny's post and photo, the Caolas an Scarp (Kyle of Scarp) off the west coast of Harris in the Outer Hebrides is a really stunning location to explore in a small SIB or F-RIB (or kayak). You can launch at the slipway at north Huisinis and explore to the north and east in the relative shelter of Scarp. There are amazing beaches, caves, abandoned settlements, interesting history and the deep recess of Loch Reasort to explore. Best of all Husinis is the end of the road, literally a grass track and the places you explore are truly part of a roadless wilderness.
The quality of light and the colour of the water is very special.
