Re: 5meter Humber sib
Think I sorted the problem with the corner of the oar lock. I dipped an ear bud in the solvent I used to clean the hypalon. Then rubbed it under the corner that wasn't sticking. This seemed to soften/disolve the 2 part hypalon glue a little and after about 5 mins of firm pressure hey presto it has stayed in place. But time will tell if it stays

Re: 5meter Humber sib
Hopefully you've sorted your issue
If not, use of a hair blow drier or heat gun on low heat setting on the stiff materials to make them malleable to work with to form the shape you require but don't get things too hot to damage material
Go gently and take your time, touch the surfaces with your finger tips to ensure things aren't getting too hot

Re: 5meter Humber sib
Ok so now I've made the seats I added two support battons to the underside to take some of the bounce out of them they have had a coat of primer/undercoat and the first coat of black gloss. I'll give them a second coat tomorrow and fit the plastic brackets ti the underside when the paint is dry

Re: 5meter Humber sib
Yes mate I'm picking the staimless steel frame up from the welders tomorrow. I had to get the feet cut off and re welded because they were not at the right angle. So just fit that in position drill holes in transom and floor for bolts cut seat to length prime and gloss. Then give everything a good clean and I'm good to go. So with a fit of luck I might take her out on winsford flash this weekend weather permitting of course. And give the outboard a test run

Looks like the weather is going to be great on Saturday so I'll be out giving everything a test run. I'll post some pics and videos of how it goes

Re: 5meter Humber sib
Thought I would give the boat a clean before I take it to ullswater. I used a cleaner from polymarine which is fantastic. Wet the boat spray cleaner on leave for one minute then used scrubber it's removes oils, petrol , and general grime. After its all clean and dry I used a finishing product also from polymarine. Two coats leaves a deep shine and protects the sib from the elements

Re: 5meter Humber sib
Great thread.
I'm impressed with your seat that you have had made.
I have a Humber Rib and I'm considering one of there inflatables or a small 3.4 meter solid hull, and seeing your seating arrangement has given me food for thought. I would probably trailer anyway so it could be a good option.
