Which SIB Do You Own??

A sib is a soft floor inflatable boat that will roll up and fit into a bag to ease with carrying or storage.
There are many different floor designs, exampoles include - Air floor mat, Wooden/Metal boards over an Inflatable Keel or a High Pressure V Floor.

Which SIB Do You Own??

There's such a large amount of SIB Manufacturers out there, different lengths / different models, different floors.
What do you have and why?
If you were to upgrade in the near future, what would you replace your current inflatable boat with ?

I currently own a Honwave T38ie 3.8m.
Like most things Honda, its superb !
However.. if I was to change it, I think I'd be tempted with a folding rib of some variety. The Winboat and F-RIB certainly float my boat lol :D
Everything will come down to price and weight as usual though, So come on Honda Marine, pull your finger out and make a folding rib please.
F-RibsAndSibs.Com.... :whistle
Because it's a big old WWworld out there

Martin
I have a Prowave 380 HP-V which is pretty much the same style and design as your Honwave and have been told that our boats were built in the same factory In China but wouldn't know for sure :|
I went for the 'V' air floor design because of the weight factor over other options and I've got my time from taking the Sib out of the car to having it on the water ready to go down to 20 minutes with the aid of a Bravo electric air pump ;)
I bought my SIB new in 2013 to replace my 16ft fiberglass 'hard shell' fishing boat which I found to be a pain to store on its trailer, launching and retrieving on my own due to the weight and also wanted a boat we could take away with us when we go touring in our caravan around the UK and Europe. The SIB has proved to be an excellent choice giving us the best of both worlds :D
With my previous boat it was soooo frustrating to be away in the caravan near rivers, lakes and the sea with the boat stuck at home
I'm very happy with the Prowave, its build quality, layout and size which is great for just myself fishing or accommodating my family of 5 on occasions and without the weight issue, launching and retrieving is a breeze.
Happy daze

Hi Paul, I noticed you said you take the boat with you when you go on a caravan holiday.
Do you put it on the roof or do you have a big van to put it in?
Having a holiday with a big boat and towing a caravan must not leave much room for anything else ?
Regards Jim

Hi Jim :wavey
I'm fortunate to own a pick-up truck (Nissan Navara) which can be used as a car and as a van at the same time :D
I could put the SIB in the caravan to transport it but instead I put into the rear of the pick-up along with the outboard as there's plenty of room. Bear in mind the truck is over 5m long and 1.8m wide :!:
When we get to our destination I inflate the Sib and use it then put it on the roof of the truck for the return journey to/from the site. This is normally only a few miles away as I tend to book sites local to launching locations and don't go too fast with it on the roof ;-)
That's my set up Jim BUT you do not need a pick-up to do the same and after all the caravan is a big trailer at the end of the day, you just need to load it correctly if you've got a car/caravan combination ;-)
Most inflatable Sibs and a 10hp outboard will go into the boot of most good sized family hatchbacks IF you don't go down the route of slatted, alley and wooded floors/decks type of SIB ;-)
Come back if you've any more queries mate
:cheers

I have a Zodiac Cadet Fastroller 325 Acti-V
It has an air floor
It weighs 88lbs /44kg
It fits in the back of a hatchback
I coat it with 303 UV spray to protect it from the high heat and UV in the summer
I got the boat because of its light weight , build quality , size and the ability to use a small outboard.
This boat is actually larger on the inside than the Saturn 365 I looked at

Hi Ronaldo,
I've just noticed that you've got a Lehr propane outboard, how do you find it?
I thought it was a fantastic idea but the idea of trying to find someone to service it worried me a bit, plus I wasn't sure on the prevalence of refill stations in the UK.
The idea of no carb was particularly appealing!

Hi there Renaldo, & welcome to F-Ribs And Sibs.. :wavey
Thats some good info about your boat, Thankyou... The Zodiac's seem to be a popular boat.
I also noticed your comments about the Winboat, i guess thats what the other chap was refering to then.. the heat and possible failing adhesives?? :Confused

It's not compulsory by any means buddy, but you'll get a warmer welcome from the guys if you were to pop a post in the "Introduce Yourself" section.
Most folk look on there first for new members, that way we all get to introduce ourselves.

Anyway...
Welcome Aboard :cheers

I have a Wetline 260 and also a z-ray IV 300 (which is a similar length to the Wetline despite the 300 in the name).

I have an Frib 330 folding rib coupled to a Parsun 15hp and a recent purchase of a Mercury 2.5hp for some of my fresh water fishing.

I have sold my Excel 330 to my son in law which was a cracking sib but the Frib is lighter, faster and super rigid, perfect for my fishing along with family fun ---------- ooooh roll on warmer weather. :cheers

Phil
