Smartwave 4800 centre console

Post by warder54 » 26 Oct 2016, 20:41

Bought 2 years ago for fishing and fun trips.
NZ made rotomoulded hull (Polyethylene) very tough, beaches easily with no hull damage.
Fitted a new Yam 60 efi this year and seen 40mph top speed in calm conditions.
Nice stable boat with plenty of room to fish 3 or 4 but better with 2.

Now that is interesting ... a boat id love to be able to afford is the pioner flexi 17 darkline and that is a rotationaly mouled poly boat....how does it handle??? The flexi 17 is said to be a rival for a decent rib in handling and strength and near on unsinkable.....they use the pioner multi as rescue boats over here and dive boats due to the drop down door on the front..... :drive

Like u say ive had poly kayaks and we used to drag em up the beach if they dent u leave em out in the sun and the dent pops out and returns to normal shape and they are easily repairable etc

Great video a bit pr stunt but shows the strength https://youtu.be/naOG2_8huz8

And a pik

Yes looks that way si. I did enquire about selling mine before repowering buying one but its looking to cost around 19k with 80hp and thats just a cost i couldnt justify.....
Would seriously love to try one tho.

Could not find a used one anywhere......their heavily used in norway over ribs etc dunno if its anything to do with the cold temperatures and water temps?

Europeans get all of the cool boats. Warden, thanks for posting! Hadn't known that type existed and of course, I want one... BTW, wasn't able to find your youtube account with searching your username. Can you post it?

Minus the long intro, the pioneer boat video was along the lines of exactly what I wish I could do. Oh well, another lifetime.

How come you have two GPS units?
Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

Correct on the fish-finder/sounder (down-scan imaging - very cool)
Here are some links to some vids.

My Mother-in-law reversed into my rig on my drive this year, pushed the back end sideways 3ft! totalled the back end of her Berlingo, I spent 15 min with sandpaper and a heat gun to remove some scuffs - good as new :star Then about 3 hrs finding shattered glass!
