Looking to explore Derwentwater mid November, could anyone recommend a place to launch and recover the sib, I need to be able to use the transom wheels to launch as motor to heavy to carry into the water

Re: Derwentwater
Derwent is one of the smaller lakes, so I've not used that. It'll no doubt be under the 10knts speed limit belt , and I'm not sure about boat registration.
Ullswater is a good length, approx 9 miles iirc , plenty of camping / caravanning sites or lodges too. No silly registration scheme either.

I've no knowledge of this area but hopefully someone with knowledge will be along shortly
In the meantime here's a scan of a boating launch site book I have to get you rolling
It's a couple of years old so phone to check prices

Cheers guys, that scan was a help
More than likely use the boat yard slip as I can leave the car there too, we all know Lakeland car parking isn't cheap!
Yes it's not the biggest lake but looks nice for a few hours exploring, you can land on one of the islands and have a brew up if you want, I've only got about4- 5 hours boating time on the water on a Saturday so thought I'd give it a go, no need to register it seems.

Re: Derwentwater
If you travel along the east shore from Keswick, there's a small car park more or less at the bottom end of the lake. Its just after (or possibly before) a left turn to Watendlath. Its dead easy to find, and if its not full, ( I havn't seen it full yet) you can park a few yards from the waters edge. If you plan to fish, then id buy a license from the shop in Keswick first.
