Longevity of 90w gear oil

Post by Robert Donithan1 » 10 Apr 2025, 12:38

I got the 90w gear oil for lower end for a 6hp 2 stroke during the COVID outbreak around 2021..how long should I trust it for use out of the container..I still had 1/2 bottle from 2021..I want to change the gear oil in my motor for the coming season..should I get another quart or use the old oil..thanks

Hi Robert, I've always used my theory if in doubt leave it out.
Put fresh oil in and use the old oil in your oil can to lube other moving parts.
Take Care
