Tohatsu 9.8hp short shaft - SOLD
Hi Everyone..
I am sell my outboard engine due to upgrading to a larger engine. It has been well looked after and recently serviced. This included the impeller getting changed. This is a 2008 model purchased in 2009. I am looking for £850 for the engine but open to offers.(sensible ones)

I don't understand the weight shown on the maker's plate. 36.5 - 43.5kg. It is lighter than I expected but would be worth finding out the exact weight as I know someone who could be very interested and will be happy to pass it on, could you confirm please.

Re: Tohatsu 9.8hp short shaft
Usually the weight can change depending on if its along / short shat or if it has electric start fitted.
Rather than plate each one its easier to put a range on the plate - with the bigger stuff its easier as they all ( mostly ) become long shaft / elce start / PTT .

The motor shown is a tiller control, pull start etc. so weighs 36.5kg

Thanks, I will pass the info on. I have never come across this method of weight info before and certainly not on any of my engines, I wonder if it is normal on Japanese engines and not on US engines, very interesting. You learn something new everyday.
