Looking for launch sites in South West UK

Hi, I am new to this site and to the world of SIB's! My husband bought us one to be able to get out for a bit of 'Socially distanced' family time with our disabled daughter.
I would love to know where we can take our SIB in the South West UK, preferably with parking close by? We recently went to Mylor in Cornwall which was lovely but at 3.5 hours travel each way its not ideal for a day out!

I’m not too familiar with the area you mention other than Cornwall so not much help I’m afraid.
Have you tried looking on http://boatlaunch.co.uk/ it’s a superb site offering lots of detail.

Weymouth sailing Academy would be ideal for you and meet all of your requirements.

It is my go to place for trying out anything new as it is a very safe venue with it being within Portland Harbour.

@Scar Hi Scar, any info/link to using the Academy slipway? looked on their site but could find no info. I used Castletown slip this week and the tide went out, very short slip so tough pull back over stones. Any advice you can give would be very appreciated. Thxs Neil.

Poole harbour great & safe place for a bit of recreational boating lots to see, use Baiter park & slipway for launching . Nice easy launch what ever tide condition, park right next to slipway if you have a trailer or very short walk if not

No worries Mrs Badman can also go up river Frome to Wareham have a look at visit my harbour small boat pilotage at bottom of this page type in Poole in search box and click on harbour & river Frome very useful info for safe day out, your daughter should love it

Just go onto there website and look at the membership page and then go to Day membership.
There is a choice of 4 slipways there and they are all manageable at all states of the tide and the pontoons are the rise and fall type so all very civilized.
The cost for the day for a 4m craft includes the harbour permit and costs £16.80 which also include parking. At present you can go across to view the huge cruise ships moored in the Bay which is a fantastic sight to behold close up.
Castletown is a drama at low tide, I would much rather spend the money for an easy time.

GHi Scar, thanks for the feedback, will defo try the academy as it looks to make things easy. Went and looked at the cruise ships which are very impressive, total distance travelled about 20 miles over 3 hours. Hope to get out again 1st week of August so may see you around. Thxs
