a list of plymouth and close by slips all FREE to use

oreston slip plymstock -my favourite in plymouth - easy launch most tide states great condition slip but muddy stretch at low water - car parking ok but can be a pain in the summer weekends

mt batten x 2 slips great all tide launching big wide clean slips great close by facilities although can be mad in the summer or if there is an event on - parking good but again can be a bit of a walk in the summer weekends

richmond walk [next to blagdons boat yard] good steep slip usable at most tide states - not advisable with a big boat due to restricted turning at the top - parking ok [just get there eirly ]

elphingstone slip - realy good slip all states of tide and car park on site - just avoid if there are any events on as they take up the carpark]

mutton cove - mount wise - small slip that is usable on all but low water tight turn at top and great parking

stonehouse slips - there are 2 slips here one on the pick up point for the cremyl ferry - this is advisable to be quick when launching due to the ferry coming and going - also be aware of the drop off the side this is un protected and not advised to drive down it this is usable all states of tide but there is a drop off the end on springs - there is a smaller slip on to a beach down the lane to the left of this which is good for 1/2 tide launch

saltash - 2 great slips although not advisable at low water due to the mud - parking great

weir quay - 1 min away from me and my most used slip usable all states of tide and good and wide enough for 2 - 3 boats at a time although it rarely is busy apart for friday evening as there is sailing club on but they usualy leave a space or will move over to allow others to launch

bere ferrers 2 rough slips good for down to 1-2 tide and thick mud after - shallow channel to the tamar but ok in a sib or small rib down to 1/3 tide parking can be ok but some times you may have to go up the road - good pub next to slip [ the olde plough]

calstock slip - good for most tide states although can be very muddy at the lower part - parking can be tricky

portwrinkle harbour - this is a steep slope to the harbour and is for vessels that can be carried as there is a post at the top to stop people driving down - there is a key holder near by but i wouldnt want to carry or pull anythink more than a 3 mtr sib up the slope although offers great access to the coast
parking usualy realy good although i only use on eirly mornings at it can be a bit mad mid day onwards in the summer

launching is usualy fine just the parking is a pain in the rear at some points - allot of slips that are free to use are also sailing clubs and wter sports centers and some just tucked away - but usualy you get there eirly and your fine
