The Takacat looks appealing, I know @chris moody has one and so far seems pleased with it..
Do you think they’re popularity will grow to a point where they should have a separate category along with the fribs/sibs/ribs under our inflatable boat forums ?

Or should I add Takacat to the sib manufacturers forum ?

Absolutely!

Any boat missing the bow and stern deserves its own category. :thumbsup

Roughly what speed was I achieving? I didn’t have my phone to hand to check the actual speeds at the time.

Dunno, couldn't keep up!

Not sure, but well over 20 knots I would hazard.

Clocked it running alongside you at about 17knts and I don't think you were flat out at that point. More speed in it with less weight.

Funny thread, and yes, once you set the engine up correctly, so that it stopped being a liquidiser with the lid off, you were going like stink, i recon you got past 20knots.

After some engine height and trim adjustments over lunch, when we left Swanage beach it was ventilating like crazy.

But after some further on the water adjustments to the trim just off Swanage it was behaving itself nicely for the remainder of the day with just a slight bit of ventilation on full throttle starts from displacement speeds.

If I can exceed 20kts with a 9.8hp I'll be one very happy bunny.
