Noob from Scotland

Post by Fast-craft-man » 06 Jul 2018, 17:11

:) Hey people! I’m a noob to the site! Defo not a noob to boats, ribs and sibs. All started when I was 11 and moved to Millport (isle of Cumbriae) since then I’ve had more boats than hot meals! I’ve been lucky enough to sail 150ft yachts and 100ft motor cruisers, Ive got too many qualifications but they mean quack unless it’s for work! Anyways I had a sib when I was 13 for flying about the islands, 1.8m home made ply floor, yam 2.5 fourstroke with mulled out carb for more power, wooden hydrofoils as I couldn’t get a small enough set 🤣 it was a wee flier! Not been on a rib or a sib in years but we are going to buy a caravan and want something the kids and us can play with so thinking about 3m with solid floor, inflatable keel, preferably a old Avon or zodiac! electric pump and I’ve just got a mercury 15hp 4stroke in a trade deal but I’m watching out for a 20-25hp two stroke I do love the smell! 😂 I’m a boat builder to trade I focus on restoration and engine work! So any locals to Glasgow or Loch Lomond give me a shout always a good deal to be made on servicing and repairs!

Best

Craig

Hey guys thanks for the welcome! Heading out today, a few trade deals came through and I’ve landed a 3.8m sib wooden floor and a 15hp Mercury 4stroke so going to test and play today before making up my mind on mods! Will post photos in the what did you do with your boat today section at some point!
