Railblaza Rod Holder II

Post by James » 14 Aug 2017, 22:55

Hi

I am considering getting a Railblaza Rod Holder II and a RIBPoprt so I can attach it to the tubes ready for Oban.

Has anyone stuck one of these to the F-Rib range of boats?

It's pricy I know, but I've already tried other solutions and haven't been that happy with the outcome.

Thanks

James

Hi James,

I must say that the Railblaza stuff looks good. I've tried to get the rep to come and meet us - I was thinking of trying them out with a view to stocking their gear. But he hasn't got back to me. I'll give him another call now... hmmm, had to leave a message again!

I'll let you know if I hear anything more helpful!
Cheers,
Alan

The Cleat up front will help

- I can tie the painter (I am learning the terms lol) line to it
- I can wrap my Anchor rope round
- I can tie my boat up to the dock with it
- I could put my fishing rod holder on top of the cleat, or a camera pole

I've installed the fishing rod holder. I was going to stick it to the tube like I did with the cleat, but I wasn't sure where to put it without it causing issues with folding. I decided to mount it to my spare bench. The F-Rib bench cover lucky fits over the top of the base

I will fit the other base to the other side of the bench tomorrow. I am still waiting for my cup holder to turn up

I also use Railblaza products, and they are great, and extremely versatile. The cleatport rib mount is excellent, and I have had no problem with mine at the bow.

I went for the side port mounts for the rod holders, as these screw neatly in to the corner of the transom, and no bolts are required. The fitting is very strong and secure and does not interfere with the folding.
