Bmb, I notice you joined in May 2015 and have made 11 posts in that time, 8 of which are on this topic. Paul's sequence of events explains things well; 3 places were taken by organisers, one was confirmed in a pub but subsequently also confirmed on the thread in public. The others, mine aside, were confirmed on the thread or by pm after the thread was opened in January. So, there was plenty of time for you to reserve a place. My interest was also notes in thread and via pm.

The only mistake Paul and Martin might have made, was in not publicising a 10 boat limit at the start of the thread, and not keeping a public tally. I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Martin, but have met Paul on 4 trips, elitist he isn't. This forum is still quite new, they run it from their own pocket in their time for no financial reward, and I think they are doing a pretty good job.

Personally I think you should now pipe down. You knew the situation when you asked to go on reserve list almost 4 weeks after event was publicly noted as closed. Gurnard made an honest mistake welcoming you and not having read back on the thread, Paul corrected that.

I would happily give someone my place, IF my having a "reserved pending confirmation" place had meant they lost out AND IF they had posted their interest before Paul closed the event;that has clearly not happened in your case.

Please lose your attitude on here, the guys are doing a great job and do not deserve this abuse. I am sure they will learn from lessons as they go along but they have hardly made a big mistake here.

Why not simply (as others have suggested) choose another date, post a trip up on here, and see who decides to join you?

Bmb779, Not really sure what your problem is mate, :Confused , the fact is the trip is full and you expressed an interest after the event was closed off, the reasons behind why has been fully explained by Paul, Gurnard etc, so either accept this and please stop making an issue out of something which isn't there, or as other have said organise another outing in Scotland, we have a few members based up here and like Gurnard said if available we would gladly meet up with you,

Neil has said to pipe down as we haven't had any conflict on this forum since it started and we certainly don't want any to start, it's a very very friendly bunch of members who will gladly help out with any questions etc,

We welcome all members on here, and I hope you can see this for what it is and continue to visit and get involved in the future, :cheers
