Hopefully you'll be able to make it Neil ....... seems like that job of yours is out to 'baulk' your boating this year :(
I'm hoping to visit the area this coming weekend to take a look at the bridge and scaffolding ...... it's one of the larger bridges we have to pass under, so maybe, just maybe, there's room for us to squeeze under :|
We shall see :Confused
If not we'll have to come up with another plan :thumbsup

Hi paul with regards to the floating scafold platform. It has been moved over to the far left of the bridge so at mid tide you could squeeze through on the right as you approach from the langstone side. The main channel never dries out under that bridge but the areas to the left & right of the bridge does.

Reckon it can be done gents but the floating barge does have one of those police radar thingies on it so not sure how close u can get before u trigger it off?

So whent past again today and their is now a scaffold the entire length tied into the underside of the bridge (barge still their to the left) i think you can go under the floating scaffold at a medium tide mate but it was a fleeting shot and i dont want to feed you the wrong info and ruin the tril. This seems to change everytime i go past (few times per week) so will update closer to the time gents.

Okay, so the scaffolding moving on a day to day basis on one of the bridges we need to pass under rules out any planning ahead to circumnavigate Portsmouth :( ..... a trip for a later date ;-)

Not to 'scupper' the date we can tour Chichester harbour into Langstone harbour, exit Langstone harbour then along the coastline and head out to visit one or more of the Solent forts
Long term weather forecasts are sketchy at present :( but we can make the 'call' mid week on Wednesday :thumbsup
So who's still interested :?:
:cheers
