Rib or Rhib

Post by Notebook64 » 20 Jun 2024, 14:24

Not sure whats correct..
Anyhow, had a 3.5m fully inflatable and now looking for something to trailer with a solid floor.

What are the hulls made of, gap, aluminium etc

looking for something around 4.5m with a deeper hull I guess as Mrs not happy about sitting high on a flat set or on the tube.

Thanks

There are boats out there with fibreglass and aluminium hulls hence the term RIB , rigid inflatable boat.

I have purchased a small seapro rib 2.7m with alu hull which will be ideal for pottering around and some inshore fishing .

A 4.5mtr rib is a serious bit of kit but as for seating ALL of them whether SIB, RIB or FRIB have bench seats.

So, you'll be sitting high up no matter which one you go for ?

Some members on here have added seat mods to their boats.

Unless you adapt a lower level mounted seat yourself the majority that come with the boats are basically a bench seat with a back rest.

It'll have to be well padded and strong enough to support.

Have a good look around the local boat dealers they sometimes have offers going on.

Or you maybe lucky enough to pick up a decent second hand package ?

Somebody surely on here will probably know of one that's for sale.

Areas where id be looking at locally are Pwllheli, Bangor,Caernarfon,Beaumaris ....... there are many other places too it depends how far you intent to travel to ?

All the best with your search.
