Any one there.
Hello peeps, just thought i would see if there is still anyone watching as there has been so little activity for me to spy on lately.
Yes I know that's rich me talking as I do not post much normally anyway!
That's cos i don't do much. I don't like the cold now so not going out in this weather and when i do go it tends to be on holiday to fish.
Having got the boat, engine and wheels sorted within a few weeks of getting it, thanks to all the wonderful advice and help I got from this forum, there has been little need to ask more.
I have though tried to contribute about my beachmaster wheel fitting. As we know it is rarely straightforward and I hope I have helped others overcome the difficulties and head scratching I had.
About the only thing I have been doing it trolling though e bay for bits of spare fishing gear ready for Norway next year. I never catch much cos its a southern Fjord and gets hammered by the locals with their nets. however as tackle ( and everything ) is so expensive over there I find it best to have 4 or more spares of every thing.
Hope you are all keeping well and that if you have boaty stuff on your wanted list that family and friends come through and don't just get you socks.
Regards Clive

Re: Any one there.
I pop in to have a swatch every now and then but I'm new here aswell. I get the impression this forum was busier at some point in the past but basically dead now.
Won't be out much myself in the cold weather will maybe have a day or 2 after Xmas if the rain stays off. Currently researching on trips I can do.
Open to ideas of multi day camping / boating trips in Scotland if anyone has any ideas. Pretty sure the spey decent is only suitable for canoes / kayaks but I'm looking for a sib equivalent kinda thing.

Re: Any one there.
Hi Clive, yes still here and still boating although mostly only on the river over winter.
Latest addition to our fleet is a Kolibri 380 SeaCat. Only tried it on the river so far.
Off to the south coast this weekend for an on the water demo of a Compass 165cc hard hull sports boat. The other half is keen on a shiny
hard hull boat with nice seats, not convinced myself as prefer the sea keeping of our rib, particularly as we boat on the North Sea.

Hi, still hanging on in here, although for various family and health reasons yet another year has gone by without me getting out on the water. As an unashamed fair weather sailor I'm unlikely to venture out again until late spring or early summer next year but will hope to catch up then if any of you are heading out on the Firths of Forth or Tay or maybe get back across to Benderloch sometime.
Can't believe Christmas is nearly upon us . . .

Re: Any one there.
I must admit i still fancy a plastic tub to try and leave at my sons.
However it seams that since covid lockdowns the days of bargain basement fixer uppers are well and truly gone!
People expect you to pay a fortune even for a log to carve your own canoe from.
I saw one that was supposedly free but as we had one in the 80's I know it NOT to be a sea boat, scarily so. Thus I resisted.
Hey ho. just stick with what I have and be grateful I can still use it.
Thanks for the replies guys, its nice to see I am not the only one who has become cold averse with advancing years.

I’m still here!
I check in whenever I get a notification & I’ve paid the fees again to keep the forum online,
It’s not busy these days at all, but whilst it’s wanted it’ll remain.
I’ve little time spare at the moment, haven’t had the frib out for ages, life’s all about keeping my head above the water whilst the haulage game is on its arse!
Anyone into campervans/Mororhomes or conversions ?
Check out Land-and-Sea.co.uk and Land-And-Sea on Facebook.
