Wheels for the latest Honwave T32?

Post by rcx103 » 17 Sep 2023, 08:33

I'm planning on ordering a Honwave T32-IE tomorrow (air V hull).

I'm confused over the folding wheels. Some Honwaves have a platform behind the transom and the original Honda wheels are designed to get around these. But looking at official pictures, the latest Honwave no longer has these. But the original wheels still have the strange shape designed to accommodate the platform.

What's the latest recommendation for wheels for these boats?

Thank you

I've got a latest t32 without the floor extension tabs.

Most find the original curved honwave wheels are 'poor', bending and flexing, breaking etc.

Have a look for Suprod wheels on amazon etc. You'll need a 10mm ish pad to mount them away from the transom slightly just as the flow still sticks out slightly from the transom in he latest version 😉

Something like that.. I'm sure suprod give you clearances on the specs.. I dont think the fold flat ones are long enough to clear the inflatable floor depth though.

Here are some pics of mine. :)

I think..... they are suprod et200 wheels...

There is another thread running now Rugged launch wheels for T32

That has different wheels and my reply to the OP about how I fitted mine and the issues to consider .

Details in my old thread New Honwave T32.

That may be of interest to you.

I suspect Clive's reference on the rugged wheels is the one I started and it's not gone very smoothly for me (they don't seem to fit) so I may be in the market for others.

Question for you Peter: when your wheels are down can you drop your outboard and still move it around freely or do you need to tilt?

What did you fit? I bought both the big ET350 and the folding HD200 as they both serve different uses. They haven't arrived yet.

Those ET350s are big aren't they! I do like those HD200s and, on second look, could have been tempted with them.

I've gone for these: https://www.tradeinn.com/waveinn/en/tal ... 38564391/p

They're a bit pricey but I like the idea of being able to extend the legs.

The ones I actually had (which I really like the design of but are a bad fit) are: https://www.boxmarine.co.uk/products/ru ... ing-wheels

Those are a good price. I have similar with underslung wheels. Had mine 3 years and still going strong.

That's good to know Gray, thanks. And, did you ever speak to a dealer or anyone about whether it voids warranty? I started another thread about it but don't think anyone's bitten yet. Apparently, I'm told Honda's position is if you put non-Honda wheels on a Honwave then goodbye warranty (which is a bit silly in my opinion if you get a leak at the bow!)
