Well the purchaser certainly got a bargain. Didn’t take him long to cash his chips in, and that would certainly piss me off.

I bought my current boat, which it turns out may not be all as the advert claimed,

That doesn’t sound like good news either. Pray to share any details.

Well ian@ harrison, the boat was advertised as bought new in 2020 , when I got home after having bought the boat, I found the original invoice tucked away which was headed ,,, XS 5 metre refurbished boat, I went to see laurence at xs and asked what light he could throw on the matter and he remembered the 2 old fellas that bought it and seemed to think that they came originally to buy a refurbished boat , but we're in no hurry , in the meantime someone came in and bought the refurbished item and so he built them a new boat but didn't change the heading on the paper work. That said, he's not certain but will know when he sees the boat when I take it for service.. it is in incredible condition and I am very happy with it, with a couple of reservations, back to my original boat and matey making a substantial profit,, if it sells,, its all my own fault, hope to see you soon ,

Hey @sonny1, No way is your XS500 a refurbished boat, get Laurence to amend the original receipt. The hin plate states 2020 and the hull exterior is smooth gloss finish, right? Any boats XS refurbish will have an orange peel finish applied gel coat to the outside. If yours has a smooth gloss finish it’s definitely fresh out of the mould and a new hull.

Missing the forum meets down south, but hopefully meet up on the water sometime soon.

Hopefully no issues with your new boat @sonny1 . Hoping a new thermostat and a good flush will fix my issues but currently away in France, on something a bit bigger but inland. Hopefully sort a meet down south at some point in August. I really want to do a lap of the Isle of Wight from Christchurch with a pub lunch part way. Cheers

hi ian @harrison what you have said is exactly what laurence said but until he sees it in the flesh he is a bit confused as to why he didnt produce a new invoice , im hopeful that it is indeed a new boat. as for a trip round the IOW @bbutty im definitely up for that. just let us know if and when , im pretty much available any time.

As soon as I've got the boat sorted and tested on a run to make sure it's all good I'll be keen for the Iow trip, also available most days around part time work. All welcome to join provided small amount of experience, plenty of fuel for a long trip and a back capable of surviving the Solent if in a smaller craft. 😃
