Hi
Had an inflatable with launch wheels, but soon had enough of inflating and packing away, especially because the days I wanted to use it would be in hot weather. Have sold that setup and looking at a trailer and whaly boat.
Anyway....
if launching from a trailer how do you go about it?
place boat in water.. then what, how do you secure it to stop it drifting off / getting pinched if you then have to park up sometimes with the trailer removed and in a different location to the car?
Same on retrieval.
Thanks
How do you launch?

Re: How do you launch?
It really depends on where you are launching.
One great thing with a whaly is that they are essentially indestructible which gives you some options.
1) anchor. Drop the anchor and leave the boat floating while you park up
2) tie up. Depends on the site, but there could be somewhere to tie up - maybe some bouys or a pontoon
3) beach it. Great thing with the whaly and its plastic hull - just beach it.
With regards to the trailer. You would need a wheel clamp and a hitch lock to satisfy your insurance when parking up at home so just take them with you.

Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Re: How do you launch?
We have a season pass with the biggest tractor (crop duster) in the north east called Clayton. He’s a beast and makes light work of beach launching our little rib.
I can launch solo as tractor hitches up boat in the car park, trundles down the beach, reverses into water and I’m off, while they park the trailer on the beach. On return I just give them a call five mins or so before arriving, wait in the shallows with the boat, they collect and reverse trailer into water, I winch on, then straight back to the car park. Simples really, but all comes at a cost.
More seriously all as @ChrisParish said to be honest. When launching our smaller trailered rib at various slips then easy peasy if two of you…one stays with boat while other parks car/trailer etc. Solo need to choose facility so you can tie up, anchor, beach etc. while parking car and trailer. Can be a real pain at some slips.
