what trailer do you recommend ?
Indespension bunked would be my choice.
We’ve even managed to sort a deal or three or over the years for supporting members too.

Agree, also like Indespension. Reckon a Coaster Micro would be good….10” wheels (faster and cooler running than 8”), 710kg capacity and with forum discount?? a bargain perchance? (c’mon @Martin what you got!) Negatives…rubber clad steel bunks may benefit modding with carpet lining for a sib and rubber snubber changed to carpet.

If on a budget then nowt wrong with the Extreme Inflatable 350kg bunked. Only 8” wheels but sealed hubs, carpeted 1.8m bunks and carpetted snubber and arguably more ready to go just out the box.

Note:
Both may need bunks raising for a cat/tunnel hull sib’s tubes to clear mudguards.

We used to run something called supporting members (indicated by a bold blue username)
People donated annually to help me fund the forum and in return I managed to get some goods/services discounted.

I haven’t done a trailer for ages but if you’re serious about a new indespension trailer, I’m happy to help source/supply

Thanks for the offer

Quite a difference in price
extreme 300 - £1125 and 350 £1156
Coaster micro £1446 and possibly needs to be modified

not sure if the 350 would be best choice.

price wise quite a chunk in difference.

The adjustment on a 350 would just be to unlock some bolts and higher the rails? correct?

If like my extreme 350 I had to put longer bunks on to support the transom and outboard ( It always stays on my transom the only time the outboard is taken off is when storing it in the winter )

Yup, thinner metal and smaller wheels and tyres will keep the price down.
Before we approached indespension or extreme for a discount, We asked a few retailers their opinions of the trailers they sold and all said the indespension was the better build and had the support of countrywide dealers and parts at local small stores (halfrauds etc)

Money speaks volumes, I get that, and I’m unaware of any unhappy extreme owners.
Just think, will you purchase a longer or heavier boat in the future?
My indespension coaster roller easily fits my frib 375 on and will easily take a bigger/heavier boat upto 4.2m 👍🏻

Hmm
will have a think

pictures on brochures, look like both are at their limit - possibly more cost?
also, the rubber bunks..doesnt look like much support offered, narrow etc - therefore any idea on conversion costs?
Thanks

Both decent to be fair. The Indespension rated at 710kg with 10” wheels (run cooler at over the legal limit speeds) and perhaps better value, will need a bit more set up fettling but overkill for a 50kg (+motor) sib. All depends on redundancy if you plan to get a bigger boat/rib in the future.

Arguably the Extreme is more suited to a lightweight rig as the 350kg rated suspension will give a better ride lightly loaded. It will also probably require less fettling to set up for a sib.
The 1.8m carpetted bunks should be long enough for the Elling. Biggest issue will be to get the bunks high enough for the tunnel hull. A couple of mods spring to mind;
Move cross beams which support bunk posts from below main frame to above.
Add a timber packer between bunks and support bracket to add a bit of height.
One or more of the above may generate enough clearance.
Either way contact Extreme for their advice….they may be able to supply longer bunk supports and even longer bunks if you think necessary.

PS; Trailers are very adaptable. We have an old jet ski trailer which has carried many different craft including hard boats, sibs and currently a small rib. Started life on leaf springs and tiny bunks…modded over the years with longer bunks, Indespension style rubber suspension units, sealed hubs and now rollers.
Bit of a ‘Triggers broom’ I suppose.
