Bunk or Roller
Hi
Have an telling kb350
looking to get a trailer and transom to save the inflate deflate.
Q - As long as I have a UV cover on it, is it ok to store outdoors in a compound?
Q2 - It has launch wheels, so will probably use those at a slipway / marina, therefore as it will be used in this way, rollers or bunks?
Thanks
Nick

Re: Bunk or Roller
We’ve always kept our boats outside inflated and covered on trailers over the season so should be ok.
Trailer wise then definitely bunks not rollers. @Gray and @Sibfisher of this parish keep their Elling’s on road trailers and we keep ours on a bunked launching trolley. For tunnel hull sibs we’ve all set the bunks under the floor hard up to tubes and long enough to project under transom for support.
Below is a link to @Sibfisher’s trailer thread.

Re: Bunk or Roller
As Stated by harrison if you have the KB350 on the trailer bunks tight against the tubes should be no problem, I have my KB on the trailer all year and in the summer outside inflated and covered with no problems for the winter in the garage.
With my Extreme 350 trailer I had to make longer bunks to support the transom with the outboard on.
For the last 2 years I have no problems doing this.

Re: Bunk or Roller
Yes it’s a tunnel or catamaran type hull.Notebook64 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2022, 08:21Is an Elling classed as a tunnel ?
I think I see what you mean.
I suppose technically it’s a ‘tri hull’ or trimaran with it’s central inflatable keel below the floor, but that’s just confusing the issue.

Re: Bunk or Roller
Indespension bunked would be my choice.
We’ve even managed to sort a deal or three or over the years for supporting members too.
