Anyone keep a record of their trips? If so what criteria do you keep a note of?

I've been keeping a simple written record of date\location\weather\distance\fuel etc....

But any other thoughts would be interesting to hear.

Cheers

Simon

Also keep a record of all our trips.

Years ago used to record all hours in RYA Powerboat log book format, but now log all hours separately for each motor on Engine Log sheets.

Same sort of info really…date, hours, fuel, trip details, weather, sea state etc. etc.

Reckon we have close to fifty pages so far.
Sad or what!!

I tend to rely on the rya safetrx app. Saves it all to log in the app. Time, date, speed, shows your track etc.

Thanks @harrison . I’ve been keeping a written log in a Rite in the Rain pad and an electronic copy in Excel, but just wanted to check I wasn’t missing any good ideas. Sea state was one bit of info I’ve missed. I've also been trusting my tachs to record hours so I'll add those to the logs too.

I hadn’t logged some of my earlier trips, but I think I’ve pieced it all together from photos, videos, plotter tracks and SafeTrx logs.

Thanks @PeterM , I’m also a big fan of the SafeTrx app, but I’ve found that some of my older journeys have lost detail. Estimated distance and average speed have all vanished. Last week the detail for each point on the track on the web page was missing, but I see that it’s back now. Very odd. Maybe they were having technical issues? This pop up box only contained the position and time last week.

Not a bad speed for a T38, but not sure I’ve ever been able to match that. Didn’t feel very safe though…
