Went over a wake in Poole harbour last weekend and broke a seat. Any idea where I can get a replacement? I have emailed F-RIB but just wondering if anyone knows who might have stock. Anyone else have this happen? I was a bit surprised as it wasn't a massive impact and we even had the F-RIB cushion on it!

Re: Broken seat.
Hi @grommet , sorry to see that seat like that pal, I'm rather shocked to be honest.
Is the frib still under it's 3 yr warranty ?
I'd be tempted to have a word with @FRIBBER (Steve) from F-`rib HQ, he's a smashing chap and "if" he's able to assist you, I'm sure he will.
HTH,
Martin

Re: Broken seat.
Hi @grommet , I had a Honwave seat break under me a couple of years ago, but mine was already damaged and weakened. I would expect a seat in good condition to withstand pretty much anything you could throw at it.
I inherited my seat from the previous owner with the gel coat already cracked and damp having got into the ply. It was fine for river travel, but gave way on my first trip out on the Solent. Same as you, it wasn't a massive bump, but enough to crack the bench.
I replaced mine with a length of cheap scaffold board and swapped the plastic hooks over from the broken bench. I probably could have made a thinner, lighter version with some nice marine ply, but the scaffold wood has done alright and looks ok with a coat of dove grey Weathershield.
You could always do similar while waiting for stock of F-Rib benches to come available.
I later forked out for a genuine Honwave seat and that has taken some serious punishment including two up, pushing hard in quite lumpy seas.

Re: Broken seat.
Cheers for the responses guys. I did cobble a spare up at the weekend so we could do the Bournemouth air display. I used some spare 18mm marine ply and routed the edges to match the original and used the original fittings.
No reply from Steve at F-Rib yet or Nestaway boats which is a bit disappointing.

Re: Broken seat.
Just a quick update. I got a call from Ian at Nestaway, he says it should be covered by warranty as it is only a year old but there is no stock and doesn't know when there will be as production has currently stopped due to moving production from Russia to another location. Could be 6 months or more. Looks like my DIY ply job will have to do for a bit longer!

Re: Broken seat.
Didn't get any response from Steve Bruce? welcome to the club. For the last three times I needed help or some clarification from him, I sat waiting, not answering emails or answering phone calls. At least on my part.
Even Nestway also left me unanswered when I emailed them asking for help with my F-RIB 360 keel protection problem having come off. Anyway...
Regarding options for seat replacement, I can help with two contacts, one in France and one in Germany, which can be an option:
France
Olivier from BigToysOnboard
email: olivier@bigtoysonboard.com
phone: +33 6 64 93 21 73
Germany
Andreas from A.Kalkuhl GmbH
email: a.kalkuhl@kalkuhl-gmbh.de
phone: +49 0212 40278
Both have F-RIB products
I hope it helps
