New honwave arrived - manometer issue
Following on from thread a few months back, finally got my new honwave t32-ie (latest model) delivered.
Inflated it up, and really happy with it - overall looks and feels like a really quality piece of kit.
One issue though, I can’t seem to get any reading on the manometer...I’m not sure if I’m misusing it, I’m not sure there even is a way you could misuse it! But it seems stuck at a reading of 0.
I’ve not inflated too much pressure into any of the tube or floor, just enough to give a bit of rigidity, but I’d have thought there was at least enough there to get a reading on the dial?
Anyone else ever had issues with these?

Re: New honwave arrived - manometer issue
I could be wrong but I think you will need to inflate the boat more to get a reading.
Worth trying to inflate at least one tube until its solid to test the manometer anyway.
Good luck

Re: New honwave arrived - manometer issue
Hi there
I don't have a standalone manometer, but I know that the pressure gauge on my pump doesn't show any reading until the air chambers really start to firm up. I suspect you just need to get a bit more pressure in there, then you'll get a reading.

Re: New honwave arrived - manometer issue
Any chance of posting up some pics of your new T32.....we’re all desperate here to see the new models.
PS: Agree with comments above. Pop some more air in and gauge should work fine. Even 0.06bar will feel firm and won’t register at all on most gauges.

Re: New honwave arrived - manometer issue
Here we go, a few pics...
the observant amongst you might notice that this is the living room in my flat... (the whole living room
)
It only came with 1 seat, but I grabbed the second when I saw one going on ebay, whilst sorting out getting shipping on the boat.
Happy to do some more detailed shots of parts sometime, but it may have to wait a bit as boat is back packed away now.
Though... from my first attempt, I could probably do with some practice at the packing and folding.

Re: New honwave arrived - manometer issue
If the boat has HR valves then you will need to make sure the manometer fitting is pushing on the rubber valve insert to open it and let air past to be measured.
Also dont pump just one section of the tubes up hard to try and get a reading, there are baffles between the tube sections & with little or no air pressure in the other sections you could damage a baffle.

Thanks for posting the pics @jaziniho, good to finally see trim tabs actually omitted on new models.
Looking good, enjoy your new boat.

Looks good - be interested to see if the removal of the trim tabs has any effect on the performance.
You mentioned you'd added the second seat - was the mounting for it already there or did you have to glue those on too?

Re: New honwave arrived - manometer issue
Yes - mount points for two seats seem to be included as standard, at least for the t32.
So I’ve just added a second seat, which seems like it’s an original Honda part.
Incidentally, I was surprised just how heavy the seats are! I guess they can take quite a hit if bouncing? Anyone replaced them with anything lighter?
On the trim tabs, I plan to put some folding wheels on, and hoping I can use something more standard than the ones needed with the older models with the tabs. It looks like there’s still a little overlap at the back, so may need a little bit of ply to mount them... but need to look closer and see.
As for performance without the tabs... I’ve only got a 6 HP for now - wanted to start off favouring something more light and portable, so I’ll mostly be pootling about, you may have to wait to hear from someone with a bit more power on the back!

Re: New honwave arrived - manometer issue
Oh, and thanks for the tips on the pressure gauge.
I got a Bravo BTP pump at the same time, given i was doing initial tests in the flat, I didn’t think the neighbours would appreciate the noise much once it got into ‘high pressure’ mode, so stopped at that point and topped up a bit with the foot pump. (Well, after doing each doing each compartment in stages, then top ups etc)
Not sure roughly what pressure the bravo pumps cuts over from high flow to high pressure mode?
Either way, had to pack it back up - so will try again and get more air in before testing gauge.
Cheers
