hello from Ireland

Post by Mox1968 » 19 Sep 2020, 22:14

hello all,
I,m new to all this stuff but very interested in buying a Sib and outboard for fishing in Tralee Bay in Kerry near where I live. I use a fishing kayak at the moment , a viking reload but find it very limiting in that i can only use it alone (one seat) and would like the option to take out someone with me and have the engine instead of a paddle. I find the kayak very big to get up onto the roofrack of my car as its fairly heavy and would ideally like a sib that I can roll up and tranport in the back of my car (suv type hatchback) along with an outboard (maybe between 6 and 10HP). I look forward to having a rummage around the forums to pick up some good info. Thanks John

Hi John and :welcome to the forum!

There are quite a few guys on here at the moment with smaller sib and engine setups, and that sounds like what you might be after.

Have you got a boat in mind?
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Hi John and welcome to the forum from The East Neuk of Fife in Scotland.

You'll find many references to Tralee Bay here on the forum as we have had many group adventures there over the years - however not the Tralee Bay you know, this one is near Oban on West coast of Scotland!

Once you've had a good look around, sing out with any questions you have that are still unanswered.
cheers
Roger

Hi John, welcome aboard. :thumbsup
There’s lots of info on a variety of boat types and outboards too, you’ll hopefully get an idea of what suits you and your needs best.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions , we’re all here to help.
