Warsash, 20th May 2020

Post by ChrisParish » 19 May 2020, 10:15

Hey folks,

Tomorrow (20th may) I am going to head out for a run up the Hamble tomorrow for a shakedown and then possibly a blast over to the IOW is the wind / tide is favourable.

If anyone wants to join me (socially distanced, of course) then I will be at Warsash slip at 0900 tomorrow, planning to leave by 0930. I know it is late notice, but it would be great to see another human being who I don't live with!

@sonny1 That would be awesome. I look forward to seeing your new rig!
The weather on Thursday is looking thunderous here, hence Wednesday. Sorry for the late notice but I had to ask my boss for a day off as I am working from home at the moment.

Well I met @ChrisParish at the alloted time and he led the way up the Hamble and back down again with regular sensible help and advice and then out to IOW then across to Portsmouth and back to Warsash. 3.5 hours in all. A big fella with a big heart. Top banana. A truly great day and he even hung about to help me load my boat on the trailer. Massive thanks Chris. Memorable :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

It was an ace day! First time out this year and totally worth it.

That deep V XS515 handles the dreaded Solent chop very well. On the run back in we were wind over tide and I was getting my teeth knocked out. Sonny1 was just getting in with it, cruising along.

We fastened a GoPro to @sonny1s new boat and it captured about an hour and a quarter of hooning about in the Solent. I will edit it together with some bits from my boat and upload it to YouTube when I get a chance.
