We have already tested the T38 and Volaire head to head last Monday @harrison
This is the quote that sparked all this off. Didn’t sound like much of a casual meet to me.

I can see why you would think that from the quote in question and I understand why, based on that, you would be annoyed.

What has frustrated me is that I have explained how the day came about and that it was indeed a casual event, but people don’t believe me.

well im not buying it. it was all done with private messages ,obviously.
And here start the accusations of having organised it all via PMs. Yes, we agreed to meet up via PM as it was just Brerabit offering me a ride in his boat. What we didn’t do was organise some big outing and comparison test. However, having had the opportunity to tiller the Volaire and given my experience with the T38 I thought I would offer some observations on how the two compare as it may help others.

Actually @ChrisParish I am bleedin annoyed, bearing in mind all the hoo ha and interest spouted on this forum around the Volaire over the last few months. Plus the fact myself and a few others have actively followed and contributed to the many discussions. Hell, I even went to Excel, took piccies and posted these up on the forum.

No problem with casual meet ups, but in my book this ceased to be a casual meet when the organiser of the original I’ll fated test magically appeared, and then had the audacity to announce on the forum a test had already been done....Classic.

The funniest thing is my T38 has exactly the same motor as the Volaire....Which by the way will not be available for any future pseudo tests.

Sorry that you are annoyed, @harrison . If I was in your shoes then I would be annoyed as well if I felt I had been excluded from something I had previously expressed an interest in.

All I wanted was to have a look at the Volaire and maybe have a go in it. I don’t live near Sutton coalfield so going to the factory was not an option for me really.

If we had planned to compare the two then you would have been invited without a doubt given that you have the same outboard (I think I may have mentioned this before but I can’t be arsed to look).

I just wanted to play with a Volaire! I was somewhat vexed when Chris M posted what he did as I knew we didn’t do a real head to head.

I know my topic about the two is titled “Volaire 390 vs T38 - The results” but I would like to point out that I wrote this after Chris Moody’s post and in response to it.

Hey @ChrisParish feel for you, I think you’ve been caught up in events, matey.

Unfortunately it was your good self mentioning about brerabits restricted boot/discussed on Monday comment that sparked off my query about ‘more importantly when are we going to do this test then’
ChrisM then nicely waded in and informed us all the test already done on Monday.

Me thinks the Volaire owner and original test organiser are in cahoots here.

Cheers, @harrison.
I don’t think there was anything sinister going on between Brerabit and Chris M. I don’t know for certain, but I think Chris M was invited along because like me he had expressed an interest and I think that Brerabit thought he would be able to get some useful tips and wot not from him. This is all supposition, I am just making a guess based on what happened on the day and the conversations we had.

This all just goes to show that the road to hell is paved with good intentions!
