Re: Hi all - newbie here!
They just do I'm afraid but it's the best place for the wheels and it didnt cause any loss of info from the plate so I drilled straight through but it was a rush job in Poole Harbour before a day's boating with the forum

If you are really careful you can avoid the plate - just - but it isn’t easy!

Re: Hi all - newbie here!
Thanks @The Hobbit - just seems completely daft for them to place it there and a total pain to get the rivets out. I ended up using shorter bolts (rather than cut them) the ones supplied were way too long. Again strange if the wheels are specifically for the Honwave air decks! The Hobbit wrote: ↑12 May 2019, 09:13They just do I'm afraid but it's the best place for the wheels and it didnt cause any loss of info from the plate so I drilled straight through but it was a rush job in Poole Harbour before a day's boating with the forum

Re: Hi all - newbie here!
I doubt it @ChrisParish - where mine was you can see the mark at the 25hp text - maybe slightly different for everyone? Anyway, after a LONG Saturday I think its a pretty tidy job in the end. Attached a photo of the boat as well minus outboard

Re: Hi all - newbie here!
I suspect that the plates don’t always go in exactly the same position.
I avoided the plate by placing the wheels lower down - but my plate may well have been higher to start with!

Re: Hi all - newbie here!
Agreed @ChrisParish - I could have probably put mine a little lower but reckon I would still have fouled it. I've put the same floor in mine as well by the way.ChrisParish wrote: ↑13 May 2019, 15:14I suspect that the plates don’t always go in exactly the same position.

Re: Hi all - newbie here!
Mine was the lightweight foam type and I used that floor once but it was just too light and it got all twisted up and came undone. Your mileage may vary!

Re: Hi all - newbie here!
First trip out... Friday afternoon on Loch Lomond. Mainly drama free! As suggested my floor mats don't work (just came apart) so they will be removed. My only real issue was the Honwave wheel pin popping off at the end - managed to retrieve the wheel itself but the pin and washer are at the bottom of the Loch somewhere - pretty poorly made so I will come up with something better this week to keep them in place! Really enjoyable though - engine was sweet and it was pretty quick!
