Re: Anchor
@Mitch that rubber fairlead and cleat on the tubes is a fantastic modification for a T38 (or any other sib)

Re: Anchor
@Mitch I know that you now trailer your boat, but did you have that back when you used to fold it? Does it all fold nicely? Very tempted with that mod myself.
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Re: Anchor
Chris, it didn’t seem to matter, it just rolled up as normal & popped in the bag.
It was a right bitch to get on though, I got the self adhesive ones but that didn’t work because of the curve on the tube so I cleaned that off & stuck it on with 2pack adhesive & clamps to hold it in position, then cut a hole in the splash deflector, cut the life line & spliced it back together & finally stuck a tube protector onto the front.

Re: Anchor
I was going to ask to see the other side of the tube but you have posted that picture now @Mitch . You have executed that modification really well, I’m impressed.

Re: Anchor
You can also get it around a spray hood too ........ I attach my anchor to the white painter line with the black karibena which is resting on the port carry handle and let it slide around to the front below the spray hood. When I want to retrieve it I pull the blue rope you see running along side the boat and it pulls it back around below the spray hood. Magic!!
I'm not really a Hobbit, just look like one. Real name is "Andy".

Re: Anchor
Where we tie our anchor depends on the intent;
If my son and I are fishing, I tie it to one of the handles/cleats on the side. This allows the boat to be perpendicular to current and/or wind. With one fishing at the stern and the other at the bow, casting with the wind makes it easier to not cross lines. Harder for the anchor to keep hold though with the broad side to any force and the boat rocks more.
If we are just holed up for lunch or lounging about, etc, we tie off at the front. This keeps the boat facing the current/waves and wind direction putting less strain on the anchor. Boat stays more steady.
Now with our hard-hull, I'm usually tied off at the stern so my kids can use the front as a jumping platform with the anchor rope out of the way. Makes it harder on the anchor with the wind and current/waves up against the flat surface. It likes to move around a lot more and it sometimes gives way but it's worth it for the fun they have.

Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.
