If I'm on the sea or large loch, then it's killcord & DSC VHF (with auto strobe light) attached to OS lifejacket which also has its own light, a safety knife in its own dedicated pocket, car/motorhome key on J-clip in LJ's waterproof pocket plus my (waterproof) smartphone in its own holder attached to LJ loop.
If I'm on the non-tidal stretches of the Thames, then I wear a more basic sports lifejacket, still attach the killcord but don't have the VHF, carry the safety knife in its belt sheath, smartphone in holder on my belt, vehicle key and cash in a lockseal bag in a pocket.
What items of safety kit do you tether to yourself?

DSC VHF/ PLB / Laser Flare / Harness/ line cutter for 'proper' boating or over winter.
If its local/ summer river boating then just DSC VHF.....
I do have a pouch I can put on my spinlock, but it ends up with marsbars in it... never cash or something more useful like my wallet or keys
But my lifejacket varies with what I'm doing ( that all however have light & hood) - spinlock 'lite' for summer nice enjoyable stuff , 190N crewsaver for winter or more serious & impact vest on the PWC .

At sea I have a self inflating life jacket with vhf tethered. Kill cord and knife attached.
Dry bag around my waist with mobile phone, head torch and light stick. Money/card.
I’d have a plb attached but don’t have one yet. But I don’t go out alone yet either so it’s not a top priority for me.
