Mounting a flare box to the transom

Post by ChrisParish » 04 Aug 2018, 20:07

Hi folks,

I needed to find a satisfactory way of mounting / securing the flare box. I decided that I wanted to mount it to the transom so I disappeared into the man cave and came up with this:

It sticks to the transom with double sided tape - I used the 3M extreme stiff and it’s really solid.

If anyone wants one just drop me a line and i’ll print you one. I also have a version with screw holes if you want to screw it to something....

That’s really good Chris, how much you knocking them out for ?
I would like to sort some flares for mine, pretty new into all of this but I guess safety first..

£5 inc p&p in the uk. That includes the strap. There is a stick on version and a screw on version - just let me know which you want.

I was out in the boat yesterday and it held the tube perfectly.

The tubes are available from Force 4. Force 4 sell them as part of an inshore flare pack for £50 which includes 2 smoke and two Roman candle type flares. (Sorry, can’t remember the proper name - only just woken up and brain not cooperating)

I’ve had a chat with Chris, We’re currently trying to do a deal with a tube supplier.
If we pull it off, we’ll be offering out a small number of tubes with forum branding, and one of Chris’s brackets as a package.
Prices to be advised when we’ve worked out the costs.
These’ll be great for keys, loose change -phones etc...
With the grab handle on the top and a little bracket modification these will make a superb grab & go edition to your “I’m off ashore” kit. :clappy

We’ve got a small amount of the waterproof tubes, bracket design is in last stages..
It shouldn’t be long now guys, but the numbers for supply are very limited (approx 8)
