A quick impromptu trip, given the stunning weather from Burntisland up the Forth under the bridges and up the River Carron to the Helix park for a picnic with the Kelpies. Typically bright sunshine at home sees a dull harr on the Forth, which the sun didn't quite burn off.
Its a fairly uninspiring trip once you pass Inchkeith and Inchcombe andclear the bridges and the second new aircraft carrier being built.
Two small jetties to tie up to just under the motorway bridge and an easy ladder climb to get up past the lock gates, gives access to the Helix.
45mile(ish) round trip.

Been to the kelpies by car, but never by boat, got to say they are a stunning piece of art / architecture when you see them up close

Re: The Kelpies
Great pics there.
Made me jealous as I'm currently getting burnt to a frazzle on the beach at St Lunaire in France watching everyone else enjoy their boats whilst mine is folded up in the garage back in Blighty. (There isn't room in the camper van for the Honwave+Mercury etc AND Mrs B and my first preference was over-ridden!)
Looking forward to bringing both up to Fife in a few weeks for the 'summer' (hope I haven't missed it!). Maybe catch up with you then?
I assume the liner is MSC Meraviglia, which The Courier reports as being the biggest ever seen in the Forth?
