Suzuki DF 4hp/5hp the difference.

If you have a Suzuki DF4 and were wondering if there was any way to coax a little more out of it, the conversion to 5hp is simple.
You may ask what's the point for one horse power?
Or you could say that's a 25% gain, depending on how you look at life

All you have to do is move the throttle cable, yes it really is that simple

The 4hp and 5hp are identical it just that the 4hp model has restricted butterfly movement.
By moving the cable you then fully open the caburetter butterfly and achieve full power on this engine.

Well I thought what's the point of running it at 4hp when the potential is there to make it run at it's designed output.
Unfortunately the 6hp is a totally different beast.

Well spotted Andy and a great tip
I've an old BF 9.9 Honda and after checking all the specs against the 15hp were exactly the same.
Wound out the throttle stop and got me to 13hp.
If you wanted the full 15 hp then reem out the carb inlet and change the main jet, good to go

Hello Andy, Thanks for the good tip. I have tried to do the same but i dont know how to take of that bronze medal where the wire is attached. Everything else is ready, just dont know how to remove it. Any tips how to do it? Thanks.
