Having a tidy up

Post by Si Crowe » 27 Aug 2015, 11:35

When I first got my rib, the cables were a mess. The steering was shot so replaced that entirely even down to the steering wheel. Additionally the gear and throttle cables were about 4 feet too long and had passed their sell by date by quite a margin.

So this is how she was...

Note the skanky wheel with chips out of the hub. Embarrassing at best. And what was behind, my god!!! NASTY

I needed an angle grinder to remove the helm.

Now i have...

all four cables encased in nylon woven trunking. can breath, is flexible and wont rot. IMO alot better.

I do love a good fettle. Plus with the new cables I've gained space in the aft of the cockpit, the throttle, gear and steering are sooo smooth :drive . all good stuff. :banana dance
If it has t*ts, tyres or floats......it's gonna cost ya!

Cheers dude. :cheers

I like things looking clean, tidy and organised on a boat. everything has a place and everything is in it's place.

Errr, NO! That's almost the same as scrubbing another man's undercrackers!! Ain't gonna happen!! :rofl

I can only get OCD about my boat and my motorbike. I need to be enthusiastic to motivate myself.

I don't even clean my own car cos it's just an A to B thing!!
