8 - 15hp short shaft outboard wanted
A friend of mine is looking to buy the following. Anyone got anything suitable they are thinking of selling? I can then put you directly in touch with PeterM as I don't think he is on here.

Re: 8 - 15hp short shaft outboard wanted
thanks Chris & MArtin - not been doing much boating as I'd want to - work , life , weather etc ! However am hoping to be able to pick up a 3m Avon folding ( transom only ) little RIB on Thursday eve - just waiting on an address from the seller .
Need to get something to push it along with - so for 2 up I think at least 8hp needed - no more than 15 as weights increase - and I struggled with the 2stroke 20 & 25s I've had on other SIBS .
Really want a bargain Johnson GT 2 stroke in good condition but they are rare nowadays .

Re: 8 - 15hp short shaft outboard wanted
I've got a Tohatsu 9.9hp and the throttle cam to take it to 15hp. Needs a carb clean, just haven't had the chance or inclination to do it

Also a Mariner 9.9hp four stroke, but i'd need convincing to part with it as i was planning on taking it to Scotland

There's a cosmetically challenged 15hp, 4 stroke Mariner on gumtree in hamble...£1050

Re: 8 - 15hp short shaft outboard wanted
Thanks all - lots to consider - I'd love a 'light' 15hp 4 stroke - but trying to control the budget means I probably wont get it . 2 strokes ( if decent) can be as smooth as 4 ( ish - in my head) ...so probably head down that route . I used lug about the 20 & 25 2 strokes - but age and laziness means weight has to become an issue now . A Johnson GT would be the ideal TBH - but super super rare
- but Andys mention of a tohatsu could be interesting

Re: 8 - 15hp short shaft outboard wanted
I have a nice running 15hp 2 smoke Mariner going spare 2006, no rush to sell but a reasonable offer from a forum member would see it gone. Pushed the F-Rib 360 very well - Donny was certainly impressed with how well it went with Danny and myself on board at Etive last May.PeterM wrote:Thanks all - lots to consider - I'd love a 'light' 15hp 4 stroke - but trying to control the budget means I probably wont get it . 2 strokes ( if decent) can be as smooth as 4 ( ish - in my head) ...so probably head down that route .
