So, this is our darkside boat, had it nearly Two Years now.
Most of these pictures were actually taken before we bought her, but not much has changed internally.
Only real differences are that that vast TV has gone, the inverter has been changed for a larger pure sine wave one and there's the addition of a Dragonfly wifi fishfinder which was the cheapest way of getting sonar to the flybridge as it will transmit to a cheap tablet.
The eberspacher has also been changed so has a more modern controller, apart from that she's pretty much the same. Although far from pristine, she wasn't in bad condition and the interior is fairly inoffensive for an 80's boat!
There's a very quick youtube video here of a wakeshot on a run back from London https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnbT5lK-8Zg
It weighs in at around 10 tons when fully fueled and with a full water tank. It holds 1100 litres of diesel and 500 litres of water. She's 42.5' length overall.
Engines are a pair of Volvo TAMD61A's. 5.6 litres, 6 cyliner inline turbo diesels with charge air coolers. They make 306hp each, or they did back in 1989 anyway, probably lost a few by now! And they weigh around 750KG each.
We've had 28.4 knots out of her, but usually sit at around 16 knots when not just pottering around on the river.
Each engine holds 20 litres of oil, has 2 oil filters and 3 fuel filters. Hydraulic gearboxes run shafts and 22" 4 bladed bronze propellers.
Layout is aft cabin (main selling point, big island bed with an en-suite shower and heads.)
Then, decent sized saloon with a sette each side, the starboard side one is just big blocks of foam and folds down to make a double.
Moving forward, is the helm. It has an elderly autopilot system, all the various gauges for the engines, depth sounder and a Raymarine E120 navigation unit linked to a radar system. This all then repeats to a second Raymarine E80 up on the flybridge
Throttles, electrical panel, inverter controller and bowthruster switch
Moving forward, down a couple of steps and there's a galley with sink, fridge, microwave and opposite that a second shower/heads
Then further forward, the forward cabin with a V berth
Then, on to the good stuff!
This is during a service with the floors up to get at the engines more easily
And looking forward between the two
Some of the wiring etc on the starboard side (still don't know what a lot of it does)
And the props/rudders after being cleaned this summer and waiting for painting with antifoul
And this is a shot of her out of the water in 2015 before we bought her
I don't really have any pictures of the flybridge, but this is looking up the steps showing the head of security
Can't really think of anything more to ad, so please ask if you want to know anything!
The running costs are obscene, we were lucky enough to be able to buy the thing but actually run the boat on a very tight budget so it pretty much swallows every penny we have and then some...
But, it does bring an awful lot of joy and I do LOVE boats!!
