There's sea around for about 180 degrees, the lighthouse is 200 - 400 m from the coast around it. The tall (poplar?) tree nearest it is on the landward side but the other tall one to the right of my photograph is indeed between the lighthouse and the sea.

If you want to see its location, enter "Phare Château-d'Oléron" into G**gle maps.

I see Martin must have been over there, someone's pulling a half-donut just outside the harbour entrance . . . :lol:

Lake Conroe has the highest boating deaths and all of Texas. They should put up about 10 more of these lighthouses.
