Needed break

Post by Martin » 11 Jun 2015, 22:53

My Navara is loaded up to the hilt, caravans on its knees and I'm buggering off for a week away, so I may be a little quiet depending on the Internet connection :?
Good news is, I have a fish finder to test out, I fitted the tach, my stingray junior & my stainless prop are all going to get some abuse :o
& hopefully on an evening, I'll be completing my spray cover, which I have to say is looking pretty damn good
Plenty pictures and item reviews on my return.
If you can all do your sunshine and calm waters dance for Wales, I'd appreciate it :star
Oh, and no robbing the biscuits you boys !!!

Martin :cheers

While you're living it up in Wales, I'm off to Greece for a sailing holiday next week!
We can compare sunburn on my return.

Well we're here, and it's a cracking site...
A decent size pitch and plenty of room for a normal UK caravan site.. The showers/toilets etc are immaculate, water/TV/waste/elec points too, t'internet is terrible round here, but who cares... I'm a stones throw from 2miles of lovely golden beach and good launching capability too when I do decide to go off... :drive

Paul.. the awning flew up this time, and I bought some new lifters for the landing legs just in case, but didn't require them as the pitch is perfectly level :thud

Got a chap next to me with a 3.65m rib, funny little thing it is, but looks pretty nifty too, some kind of a Chinese rip with the same named engine, which is blatantly a copy of the Suzuki DF15 (injection model)
He's going out on Monday, so I'll probably run out with him and have a little blast along side. He reckons it'll hit 25 knots, which if that's the case, I'll hopefully be tracking him if my new prop and hydrofoil do as I expect (need a fingers crossed smiley)
Seanova- http://WWW.SNMARINE.COM, if anyone wants to have a look, and ASAP Marine Products for the outboards, that's the chappy on the next pitch to me.
Martin :cheers

Martin

Remember, the neighbours rib is imaginary and never happened if there's no pics to back it up TTIWWP or video evidence will otherwise do

Glad the caravan awning is working for you now you're used to it ;-)
Have a great time and stay safe out on the wet stuff :drive

Yup, North west wales :D
We went to Hafan-Y-Mor last year, lovely place. Whilst we were there we took a trip upto black rock, and set our sites on it for this year, thankfully we have the SIB too now so we're enjoying all it has to offer in regard to boating.
We had a cracking day out yesterday, but stayed within a mile of the launch, the Mrs is very wary of the sea, so it was a nice steady run.
I returned and launched again at 5.30pm and stayed out for about 3hrs with the 3.65 rib man from the next pitch.
Did a spot of fishing (caught my first in donkeys years) and had a run up to Porthmadog, very calm waters inland and picturesque too!
Fingers crossed I'm out for a short day tomorrow, high tide at 11.30 so not far to drag the Honwave, it killed me yesterday as I dragged it a long way to launch but retrieved it on the tow bar of the Navara coming out :drive
Lots of fun, learned loads more, the boat and outboard are faultless, oh.. I fitted the solas and hydrofoil too.. Wow!!
More on that later with a full write up and one for my latest project too :whistle
Very little in the way of internet so pictures will have to wait till I get home.

Martin :cheers

No boating for two days, Did a spot of fishing last night from the rocks, the tide was still coming in though. I cast as far as possible, but had limited weights with me, the tide just returned my set-up in seconds :?
Another wet, wild and windy day today so still no boating :(
Busting to get out on now, fingers crossed for tomorrow.
