Stupid question alert...

Post by tomcourtney » 24 Sep 2016, 13:49

Seen videos of a Winboat / F-Rib scooting around deflated, so here comes the stupid question...
After unfolding and bolting, has anyone tried to inflate an F-Rib 360 in the water?, is it possible? :scratch
(two questions I know)

Not a stupid question, actually quite a good one..
The answer, I have no idea :rofl

Myself and paul have actually been threatening for quite some time to completely deflate the f-rib whilst still on the water :thud
We're curious how stable it is

I feel a need to try :?

Tom
There's no such thing on this forum as a silly question so don't fear to ask about anything at all :chat
Like Martin I've not tried it but I'll suspect it'll still float with me aboard as they sit high on the water therefore the waterline is low (hope that makes sense) :|
BTW the FRIB 360 and above models have all 3 hull sections bolted. The 330 has only the rear and mid section bolted and the 275 has none of the hull sections bolted so the 330 and 275 rely on the tubes for their rigidity so unlikely to float deflated as the hull will fold.

I think I've seen one with the bow section deflated but the tubes were up on that one.
If we do it', we'll video it

Any rib should float on either hull alone or tubes alone.

i know iv'e seen either a f-rib vid or a winboat rib vid of the tubes fully deflated....... also seen a shark burst a rib tube with his sharp eating instruments and all was fine in the floaty boaty department.
