Taking the plunge!

Post by warder54 » 12 Sep 2016, 20:38

Hi all,
I love my Honwave 380 but after recent floor issues - tiny air leak along the outer edge that kept appearing just after the last patch! ended up using tear aid along the entire seam to be sure. That worked! I have decided to get myself an Frib 375 to stick my Mariner 15 on. That way I retain portability, size, easy set up and launch etc.

Saving hard and have half of the cash sitting already. Will have enough by the end of Feb next year in time for a birthday treat for myself in March :star

I will also be ordering the bow canopy and launch wheels.

Any current owners have any suggestions on best place to order? (Frib.com is the obvious starting point)
Pennine Marine is selling them slightly cheaper but listing says - "no bag" which seems a bit odd.

Mike

Firsat of all, Great choice :banana dance
It seems a bit strange ordering one from pennine and not getting offered a bag :?
Peter at Pennine is an F-Rib dealer, just ask him for the complete package and not an ex display, unless of course you're getting a cracking deal and can live without the bag :scratch

Although I'm in Hudds (Yorkshire) I bought mine direct from FoldableRib.com
F-RibsAndSibs.Com.... :whistle
Because it's a big old WWworld out there

Cheers Martin, probably just deal direct with Frib and see what I can swing by way of a discount by quoting a a cheaper price elsewhere if I can find one.

Mention this forum, and Frib HQ may do a bit of something for you... Hopefully :?
You'll be delighted with your choice I'm sure...
And if you need an outboard, I happen to have a 15hp Suzuki for sale

Thanks Martin but I have a cracking 2006 Mariner 15 2 stroke that I use on the Honwave and a Tohatsu 5 4 stroke for days when I'm in waters with lots of speed restrictions. The Tohatsu runs for 80 min on a litre of fuel (pushing my 4800 Smartwave when used as a back up to my unreliable Mariner 60 - now gone!!)

Hi
You're making a great choice, I've recently bought the 375 direct from f-rib, didn't get a discount but I did save on the delivery charge as I collected it from a local show they were at.
I bought the Beachmaster removable launch wheels which I would highly recommend, they are a brilliant bit of engineering which makes them so easy to use, I used to have the Honwave ones on my old boat (T38ie) and they were hopeless to try and fit or remove in the water, the wheel just wants to float to the surface while you're trying to line up the holes and push the pin in!!. The Beachmaster wheels simply push down and click into place then release and lift back up. They're also very compact and don't interfere with the OB up or down.
The bag that came with my Frib is too small to completely wrap round it and the straps are only just long enough to meet.
Check with them as I'm sure they were looking at a better bag.
My Honwave was a great boat but the Frib for me is far better in almost every way.

Great 'feed back' mate and glad you're enjoying the F-Rib :star
I'd love to see these Beachmaster wheels in the flesh as they seem the 'ultimate' solution :|
Agree that the bag is too small but the resolve IMO is simple with a fabric web stitched across the corners as a resolve ...... one of my many 'to do list'
If I 'lost' my F-Rib I'd buy again, a cracking boat, simple's ;-)
